🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • General/Unreserved/EWS Candidates: Must have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC.

  • OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender Candidates: Must have secured at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination.

Note: Candidates appearing in the final year of their Master's degree can also apply.

Age Limit

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Not more than 30 years as of June 1, 2025.

    • Relaxation: Up to 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and women applicants.

  • Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.


💰 Application Fee

  • General (Unreserved): ₹1150

  • OBC-NCL / EWS: ₹600

  • SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: ₹325

Note: Fees are to be paid online via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.


📝 Examination Pattern

The UGC NET June 2025 examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and will consist of two papers:

  • Paper I: General paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude (50 questions, 100 marks)

  • Paper II: Subject-specific paper (100 questions, 200 marks)NTA Exam

Both papers will be conducted in a single three-hour session without any break.
